Dear County Grounds Enthusiasts,

 

The DNR has proposed to allow WisDOT to utilize 11 acres on the DNR Woods site north of Swan for concrete crunching for the length of the Zoo Interchange Project -5 years!  Not only will this impact the wildlife on the County Grounds, it will create a great deal of noise and dust pollution as well as traffic disruptions for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. There are too many unique wildlife habitats here that cannot be replaced and will be diminished by this horrible disturbance.

 

Tell the officials that there are other sites that are appropriate for this construction activity—Not on DNR land!

 

Other sites that were proposed:

 -The Milwaukee County Research Park (the east side of their property will already be impacted by the construction and this would not interfere with any Research Park functions.)

                - The Milw County Fleet area (behind the Sheriff's Dept) which they said was not a large enough.

 

Residents need to know this devastating proposal is moving forward and need to act fast!
